Local Paper Profiles InsiderPages.com

The Whittier (CA) Daily News article: Web search engine finds niche in local advertising, provides a profile of local search/social networking tool, InsiderPages.com.

Like its much larger competitors, Internet search engines Google Inc. and Yahoo Inc., Insider Pages offers local businesses within a given geographic area placement at the top of Web search pages that match the companies? business category. For example, a Diamond Bar dentist might pay to have her contact information listed at the top of a customer?s search for dentists in the East San Gabriel Valley. The dentist would then pay Insider Pages $3 to $5 for every phone call it receives via Insider Pages. The company assigns unique phone numbers to each of its advertisers to track the success of the online ads.

Last month, SearchDay took a look at Judy’s Book, another service that combines local search and social networks.
