Google has announced the launch of the Google Web Designer, which was released as a public beta. Advertisers first heard about the tool in June and that it would be integrated with DoubleClick Studio and AdMob.
The tool enables advertisers to create HTML 5 advertisements for both mobile and desktop. Part of the reason for this tool was because HTML 5 advertisements are expected to overtake Flash ads within the next two years, and there currently isn't a common tool that advertisers can use, especially those without the technical background to create types of ads.
Another appealing aspect of Google Web Designer is that it's free, which will likely make this the tool of choice when compared to the similar Adobe Muse program which costs $14.99 per month in the U.S.
The Google Web Designer is available for both Mac and Windows and comes with default layouts for both DoubleClick rich media ads and AdMob mobile ads.
