Google is testing another change to how ads appear in AI Mode. Previously, we spotted sitelinks showing up within these ads. Today, we noticed that ads appearing at the bottom of AI Mode now include AI-generated descriptions.
This looks new to me. A line also appeared below the ads reading: “AI response about ads are generated independently.”

This follows a pattern we’ve seen building recently, with Google testing AI-generated descriptions across other ad formats too, including Shopping and product ads. Adding a disclosure line clarifying that the AI response is generated independently from the ad itself is a notable addition, likely meant to draw a clear line between the sponsored content and Google’s own AI-generated commentary.
