Google has shown what Search Console could look like in dark mode at Search Central Live Deep Dive Europe 2026. The photographed slide presents the interface as an experiment and credits Nano Banana for the result.
Under the heading “We listen to our users!”, the slide says the presenter tried to get it working during the last hour, before adding that Nano Banana did a better job. Beside the text is a dark version of Search Console’s performance dashboard.
The LinkedIn post sharing the photograph tags Ariel Kroszynski and asks whether dark mode is coming. The screenshot provides no release date or instructions for enabling it.
A darker dashboard would still leave the AI query question open
The post also hopes for AI query data. That would answer a different question for site owners: which searches caused their pages to appear in Google’s AI features.
SEW’s recent guide to Search Console’s multimodal filter explains how to inspect image-led searches, including impressions in the Generative AI report. The dark interface pictured at the event offers no additional evidence about query reporting or new metrics.
Anyone hoping to switch themes will need an actual product announcement or an available setting. For now, the photographed slide gives us a look at the idea.
