Google People Also Ask answers are now nearly 100% AI-generated

Google’s People Also Ask section is now answering with AI-generated content almost 100% of the time. Just 14 months ago, that number was only 12%.

This was first reported by Saeed Khosravi on LinkedIn.

He wrote: “IIntitle’s data shows that, as of August 2026, Google’s People Also Ask answers have become 100% AI-generated. We observed that, starting in August 2026, Google fully retired the legacy ‘People Also Ask’ answers as we had known them for years: text snippets extracted directly from web pages. That means answers are now 100% AI-generated.”

Mark Williams-Cook also posted about this on LinkedIn, sharing a chart with the data.

He wrote: “Massive change by Google: We are likely to see 100% AIOs within ‘People Also Ask’ answers in the next few weeks 🤖. AlsoAsked took a sample of 19.2M English language [queries] made in 2026, and found a dramatic monthly increase in AI-generated answers. 97% of PAA answers in the first week of September are AIOs, up from 86% in August. It seems highly likely we are on track for 100% shortly.”

Barry also reached out to Mark Williams-Cook, who noted that AlsoAsked’s data showed just 12% AI-generated answers fourteen months ago. Looking at the dataset now comprising around 20 million examples that number has climbed to nearly 100%, though not quite there yet, currently sitting at 97%.
