Google makes it easier to visit retailer websites from AI Mode

Google AI Mode is testing a website button below ecommerce products that sends users straight to the product page, while clicking the image or name still opens the free listing panel.

Google

Google is testing a new website button on product results in AI Mode. When a user searches for an ecommerce query, the products appear as usual, but below each product there is now a button. Clicking that button takes the user straight to the product page on the website, not to the free listing panel.

Clicking the product image or name still opens the free listing panel, as before.

Here is a screenshot of how it looks.

This looks good for website owners. The free listing panel shows more stores, so a user who opens it may end up buying from another retailer. The new website button gives the featured site an advantage, since users who click it come directly to that site.
