Google AI Mode shows new Further exploration section

Google is testing a new “Further exploration” section in AI Mode that displays organic website links with descriptions, images, and dates.

Google is testing a new way to show organic results in AI Mode. Previously, AI Mode just showed the website name as a blue hyperlink within the text. Now I am seeing a section with the heading “Further exploration,” with websites listed below it.

Each result shows the website name as a blue clickable hyperlink, followed by a line of text. An image appears on the right of the text, and a date is shown below it. I can’t tell what the date means. It could be the publish date, the last updated date, or the date Google last indexed the page.

Here is a screenshot of how it looks.

This is a new way of showing organic results in AI Mode, with extra details like a heading, an image, and a date. It is similar to the new website link design we recently covered in AI Mode, where Google showed a larger, bold blue link with a favicon and URL. This test is different because it adds a section heading, a date, and an image.
