Google Ads launches Automotive Model Feeds for OEMs in beta

Google Ads has opened Automotive Model Feeds, called ‘Vehicle Top Ads’ in beta, to OEMs in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK, letting car makers show vehicle images, pricing, and specs in Search ads.

Google Ads

Google Ads has made Automotive Model Feeds available to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). In the beta, the feature is known as “Vehicle Top Ads.” This new ad format lets vehicle manufacturers show their range of vehicles in Google Search results, complete with images and other relevant details.

Advertisers using this feature can show vehicle images, pricing, and key specifications alongside their standard text ads.

Here is a comparison of Google Search results on desktop and mobile, showing sponsored ads for a “Vorato Sedan” with images and pricing, powered by Automotive Model Feeds.

Requirements to join the beta

To take part in the beta program, advertisers must:

  • Be an OEM brand
  • Run active Search campaigns
  • Provide a valid Automotive Model Feed

The feature is currently available in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

How it works

Google automatically matches the data in the Model Feed with relevant search queries and text ads.

How to remove these ads

Advertisers who want to stop showing these ads can go to the “Business Data” section of their Google Ads account and delete the corresponding feed.

This gives car manufacturers a more visual way to appear in search, putting vehicle images, prices, and specs directly in front of shoppers before they click.
