ChatGPT Rolls Out Product Carousel Ads at Bottom of Results

ChatGPT is testing new variations for how ads appear at the bottom of its results. The latest version shows multiple product feed ads within a single, prominent unit a shift from simpler single-ad placements.

This was spotted by Brodie Clark and shared on his SERP timeline and on X.

Brodie wrote: “ChatGPT is now showing multiple product feed ads within a prominent unit at the bottom of its results. Five individual ads showing within the unit appear to be the default, where products are shown within a carousel for a single brand, similar to how they are presented in Google Shopping, but for just one brand.”

He added that this was announced just the day before and appears to already be live. Brodie shared examples of the ad unit for brands including L.L.Bean, VistaPrint, and Walmart.

Here is the screenshot of how it looks.

This looks like a meaningful step up from earlier ad tests we’ve seen in ChatGPT. Rather than a single ad or link, users now see a full carousel of products from one brand, laid out in a way that closely resembles the Shopping ad experience on Google just built around a single advertiser instead of multiple competing ones.

Since this was just announced and rolled out, it’s still early days for this format, and it’s worth watching how it evolves both in terms of design and how widely it shows up across different queries and brands.
