Bing is testing favicons within Shopping ad results, following a similar change recently seen on Google — a small update that could help build user trust.
Bing is testing favicons within its Shopping ad results. Previously, Bing only showed the site name without a favicon, but now we’re spotting favicons appearing alongside these results.
This mirrors a similar change we recently covered on Google, where favicons started appearing in Shopping ad results after previously showing only the website name.

Showing favicons within Shopping ad results is a solid addition, helping build trust with users by making it easier to quickly recognize a familiar brand before clicking.
There has been an increase of 20% in the YoY growth of Google search ad spending in Q3 2016, while paid search mobile phone spending has increased by 134% from the past year.
We see mixed result across both platforms, depending on the account we’re working on, so it’s difficult to identify trends in the differences between the two networks, when we’re trying to optimise campaigns.
