Bing Seeks Search Boost from 'Angry Birds' Partnership
Bing has teamed up with Rovario, makers of the popular game “Angry Birds,” to push its search engine through four animated videos featuring Bing image search, maps, and shopping.

“For a limited period, Angry Birds will also feature search integration with Bing providing over a hundred clues to speed you through the levels and help squash the porcine thieves,” Bing announced on its Search Blog. “Featuring Bing Image Search, Bing Maps, and Bing Shopping, the videos show Angry Birds fans how they can advance in the game, featuring the lovable Angry Birds characters.
Bing has been trending upward of late, increasing its market share and unique visits, and also surpassing Yahoo globally. Compete just announced that while most sites were trending downward in January, “Bing.com grew nearly 4 percent … to reach its highest number of [unique visitors] to date (109.36 percent year-over-year).”
“Angry Birds” is the top paid iPhone app of all time. The app has been downloaded 30 million times via iPhone, Android, and iPad. This is the game’s first product integration.
With 25 million gamers spending 200 million minutes playing each day, no doubt Bing is hoping to turn some of these dedicated “Angry Birds” players into dedicated Bing users.
Bing has posted two videos already. Additional videos will be posted on Bing’s YouTube channel.
