LinkedIn Now Lets You Endorse Skills & Expertise of Your Connections

by ,  Comments

LinkedIn logoProfessional social network LinkedIn has introduced a feature that allows users to recognize professionals for their expertise.

Similar in a way to Facebook's "Likes", Endorsements has launched for English users across the U.S., India, New Zealand, and Australia and allows LinkedIn users' connections to endorse one of their skills they've listed on their profile or recommend one that they haven't added yet.

"Think your connection is great at programming and project management? [You can now] let them know," Linkedin product manager David Breger wrote in a blog post.

The new link will sit on the top of a connection's profile, where you'll see recommended endorsements for them.

"Want to see who has endorsed you? We'll notify you via email and on Linkedin whenever you are endorsed," Breger added. "You can scroll to the bottom of your profile page under 'Skills and Expertise' to see the faces of people who think you're great at what you do."

Users can also accept any new skills recommended by peers that thay might not have thought to include on their profile.

LinkedIn said the new feature should reach the rest of its users "over the next few weeks."
