I'm not a shopper. My wife laughs at me because I can never find my way around the mall. I never know which entrance I came in or the way back out. This will never happen again, thanks to Bing Maps.
In another one of those quiet additions to their search products, Bing started adding maps of shopping malls back in December.
Last week while the world was at SES New York, Microsoft announced more mall maps. They now have detailed maps for 148 enclosed shopping malls across the U. S. and have no plans on stopping.
Bing Maps now boasts detailed maps for the nine largest (by square feet) malls in the U. S.:
- Mall of America, MN
- South Coast Plaza, CA
- Woodfield Shopping Center, IL
- King of Prussia Mall, PA
- Millcreek Mall, PA
- Del Amo Fashion Center, CA
- Houston Galleria, TX
- Roosevelt Field, NY
- Tysons Corner Center, VA
Go to Bing Maps, search for your local mall and zoom in. If your mall is one of the 148 Bing has, you will see detailed maps that includes stores, kiosks, ATM machines, restrooms, information kiosks, mall entrances. You can click on individual stores (or even kiosks and outparcel stores) to find out pertinent information including phone number and web links.
The Bing Maps Team isn't content with stopping at malls. The Bing Community Blog asks for comments on what other venues they should include. Bing has even have two of the three malls in my city. So, for now, I'm all set.
