Google Search Console

Gary Illyes from Google says the company has nothing to announce yet about adding clicks and queries data for AI Mode and AI Overviews to Search Console.

The comment came in reply to a LinkedIn post from Rajeev Lekhwar, who asked when that data would be added. Rajeev wrote that Google personnel had answered the question, and quoted this response:

“The clicks and queries data is the most requested data set by website owners and SEOs. We are also anticipating this data to be available in Google Search Console, but we don’t even know by when this data will be added.”

Gary replied in the comments and pushed back on that wording:

“I don’t think we’ve phrased it like this. The team is super interested in giving more data, data that makes sense, but we don’t have anything to announce yet.”

Here is a screenshot of the exchange:

So, there’s no timeline and no confirmation that clicks and queries data is coming. Gary said the team wants to give site owners more data, as long as it makes sense, but he didn’t say which data or when.

Many SEOs have been asking for this for a while, since AI Mode and AI Overviews traffic is hard to separate in current reports.
