Binary, Octal, Hexadecimal Google Easter Eggs

A trio of new Google Easter eggs display the number of results in the number system of the query. Search the terms "binary", "octal", or "hexidecimal" to see a few fun tricks in the search results from the crew at Mountain View.

Three geeky new Easter eggs from Google display the number of search results in the number format searched, as in the “binary” search below:

Searching Google for “hexidecimal” or “octal” produces the same sort of result, with the number of results shown in their respective formats:

Google has entertained search geeks often over the winter with Easter eggs including the Barrel Roll and Let It Snow.

Google isn’t the only search engine that plays around with results for user entertainment; last September, Bing added in a few Easter Eggs of their own. Searching “more evil than Satan himself” displayed a hard-coded definition at the top of the SERP: =10^100 (a googol).

Try searching “anagram,” or “recursion” on Google for other fun and games. Hat tip to the Google Operating System (unofficial) blog for pointing out this latest Easter Egg.
