Last month, search giants Bing, Google and Yahoo teamed up to announce shema.org, a collaborative attempting to set a new standard for data markup on Web pages. Based on a plethora of feedback, Microsoft recently announced a workshop to teach people how to use the new markup.
The first workshop will be September 21 in Silicon Valley. Bing describes the event as a “working session” where they will interact and accept feedback and discuss options to make it easier for site owners and publishers to incorporate the data markup defined by schema.org into their sites and ultimately the search engines.
Offering a deep commitment to the standards communities, vendors and site owners, Microsoft also expressed the desire to grow the community and plan for more of these workshops in the future.
