Watching Google Get Blocked In China

Chinese Blogger Slams Microsoft from Wired revisits the
controversy over Microsoft filtering what can be posted on its blog service in China. I found the end part most interesting, where the reporter sees what it’s like to try some
searches from within China. Google could be reached, but cached pages were blocked, as was Google News (I’m assuming the non-Chinese version of Google News). Nine of the top
ten results on Google were blocked on searches for "china" and "human rights." And after the human rights search, he couldn’t get to Google for 10 minutes. None of this, by
the way, is Google’s doing. It’s blocking done by the Chinese government itself. See also
