Acquisio have acquired ClickEquations for an undisclosed sum from Channel Intelligence and struck a strategic alliance which will see Channel Intelligence and Acquisio partnering to make an impact in the ecommerce market for large retailers.
Marc Poirier, CMO & Co-founder of Acquisio, told Search Engine Watch that ClickEquations has some "powerful and unique" PPC Bid management functionality that will be integrated into the Acquisio platform. Poirier said ClickEquations' tracking system and Excel report plugin would mesh well with Acquisio's custom reporting engine and branded client extranets. He also plans to integrate ClickEquations Keyword Zoom and Text Ad Zoom features, "but what we are really excited about is the speed of the ClickEquations bulk editor; ours is already fast but clients always want to speed up this process. When integrated, I am looking forward to Acquisio bringing the fastest bulk editor to market."
Meanwhile ClickEquations' current operations will now be managed by Acquisio and their clients will have access to the Acquisio platform along with their customer service and dedicated account management resources.
The synergy between both the Channel Intelligence and Acquisio platforms is interesting as it will help both companies compete with other enterprise PPC bid management platforms such as Marin Software and Kenshoo who are aggressively targeting large retailers and ecommerce companies. Poirier said, "in particular, Kenshoo has a robust feed management offering for ecommerce platforms."
In this strategic alliance, Acquisio will be able to offer retailers automated feed management tools that work in tandem with their search and social media advertising campaigns, whilst Channnel Intelligence will be able to offer automated PPC bid management that is geared specifically towards ecommerce - features such as bidding to profit margin and ad delivery synchronized with inventory management systems.
The partnership also signifies a milestone for Acquisio, in which they integrate third party services as apps that are available within a more open platform, in a way that is similar to the Adobe's Genesis partner program.
