With the tag line "Touch and Decide," Bing has released an incredible new search app for iPad. Available for free in the App Store, Bing for iPad was designed from the ground-up for the larger iPad screen to deliver a visually rich experience.
Naturally, Bing for iPad launches with a new homepage image with hotspots, just like Bing.com. However the app offers a distinctively different search experience than going to Bing.com in the pre-installed Safari browser.
At the bottom of the screen, the App Bar features large, tiled, up-to-date content areas. The App Bar is used to exploring various vertical search properties, such as Movies, News, Maps, Trends, Finance and more.
Directly from within the app, Bing provides movie trailers, magazine-like news layouts, road, aerial and bird's eye maps, real-time transit, weather alerts, top 10 trends and more.
Everything is accessed through touch and swipe. For example, touch Weather in the App Bar and you will receive a large content area with current conditions and forecast.
Additionally, you can simply touch and drag to scroll through daily or hourly forecasts to plan your life. You can even save up to five cities using the Save Location feature.
The app includes an auto-suggest feature and will suggest based on your recent searches and related searches from around the Web. Bing for iPad also includes a voice search function. Powered by Microsoft Tellme, the voice search provides another very natural way to search.
