Russian search giant Yandex has launched a new search engine for mobile apps to make it easier to Finding “Angry Birds” or other smartphone games and apps. Yandex.AppSearch returns results for all platforms in Russian, even for English queries.
Russian search engine Yandex recently translated its Yandex.Webmaster service to English. While similar to other tools offered by both Google and Bing, Yandex.Webmaster takes the service a bit further with more options for site owners.
Yandex raises $1.3 billion from it's IPO, setting the record for the second largest IPO for an internet company since Google. Founded in 1997, Yandex is slightly older then Google. The company plans to expand into other markets and languages.
