Seahawks Beat Broncos 33-17 in Battle of Bing Search Volume by State

Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos Bing Searches by State

All signs point to a close game Sunday night when the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos meet in Super Bowl 48. Ahead of the big football game, Bing looked at U.S. search volume for both NFL teams and found searches for the Seahawks were higher in 33 states.

As you would expect, the Seahawks dominated searches in Washington state (95 percent), followed by neighbors Oregon (82 percent) and Idaho (79 percent), Alaska (78 percent), Hawaii (73 percent), California (64 percent), Montana (61 percent), and Michigan and North Dakota (60 percent).

Of the 17 states where the Broncos won on search volume, the Broncos had the most search volume at home in Colorado (85 percent), followed by neighbor Wyoming (77 percent), South Dakota (66 percent), and Indiana (64 percent), where Peyton Manning played for the Indianapolis Colts for 13 seasons prior to joining the Broncos two seasons ago after a year out of football due to a neck injury.

Overall, Bing users searched for the Seahawks 26 percent more often than the Broncos.

A few other notes from Bing:

  • QB Comparison: Manning has accounted for 72 percent of Bing searches since the conference championship games, while Seahawks QB Russell Wilson accounted for 28 percent.
  • Cornerback Controversy: Bing searches for Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman spiked 81 percent after his widely discussed post-game interview.
  • RB Matchup: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch held a 52 to 48 percent edge in Bing searches over Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno.

Enjoy the game!
