Bing Image Search Adds Pinterest Boards

Bing has announced Pinterest boards can be accessed right from its image search results, Now users can find more interesting content in the image results, and businesses and organizations can have another way for their brand to be found.

Bing continues to marry search and social. Bing’s latest announcement: users can access Pinterest content right within its image search results. Now users can find more interesting content in the image results, and businesses and organizations have another way for their brand to be found.

“Lately, we’ve noticed that the most interesting pictures on the web are being collected by people, not computers,” Bing said in its announcement. “On sites like Pinterest, passionate curators can build up a collection of ideas that shows off their unique style. We started to ask ourselves, what if we could have the best of both worlds, combining the power of algorithms with the taste and judgment of real people.”

Last April, Bing announced its “pin to Pinterest” feature, which allowed users to pin images right from image search results. Then in June, Bing started experimenting with “Bing Boards” – a Pinterest-esque way to find additional content from featured contributors in the SERPs.
