Unveils Toolkit for Educators

Late last week launched their “Teacher Toolkit.” It’s an innovative way for to alert one community of users to tools and services that they might find useful. Kudos to! I hope you continue to develop, expand, and market the program.

I’ve said for a long time, here on the SEW Blog and over on my ResourceShelf site, that search companies should do more to work alongside the education and library communities to help produce better information consumers and more efficient searchers. It would also allow the companies to gain some mindshare and maybe some user loyalty by teaching people how to take full advantage of what their search tool has to offer. People can’t use what they don’t know about. This relationship might also allow search companies get feedback about new ideas, features, and services. Perhaps the initiative will help motivate other companies into developing similar programs.
