BusinessWeek has released their ranking of the Top 100 global brands.
What’s the criteria to be considered for the list:
The table that follows ranks 100 global brands that have a value greater than $1 billion. The brands were selected according to two criteria. They had to be global in nature, deriving 20% or more of sales from outside their home country. There also had to be publicly available marketing and financial data on which to base the valuation.
So, where do Google and Yahoo place?
+ Google comes in at number 38 (new to the list this year) with an estimated brand value of $8.46 billion.
+ Yahoo appears at number 58 (up from 61 last year) with an estimated brand value of $5.25 billion from $4.54 billion in 2004 (up 16% over last year).
