YouTube Refines Ad Targeting Features & Lets You Get Freaky With A Bear

If you haven’t already seen it YouTube has recently added two targeting features which enable advertisers to have more control on what videos their ads are placed on. Age restriction and video or channel URL restriction. Age restriction is not a self service feature, and will require you to work with your official Youtube representative but URL restriction is a feature you can enable yourself.

It’s pretty self explanatory:

  • Age Restriction means companies that sell age sensitive products, such as alcohol, can ensure that minors do not see their ads.
  • Video/Channel URL restriction means that you can stop your ads showing to audiences that are unlikely to find your content interesting. This will help improve the click through rate on your ads.

And Now About That Bear…
Today Matt McGowan stumbled upon this YouTube ad campaign for Tipp-Ex. I’m not going to say anymore except that it makes creative use of the search box. Check it out.

By the way, it is actually work-safe and if you get any errors try it again, and again, and again. As you probably made the wrong choice.
