trust search engine counts to prove anything. Forums is another example of the fallacy of citing searchcounts to prove

In pondering the various arguments and statements, I was ultimately left feeling how little counting pages, either self-reported index counts or those seen in response to actual queries, mean in terms of whether a search engine is comprehensive.
I can't get the same, but
it's just another sign that the counts aren't adding up in the many ways you want to slice them. More important, as I've written before and will come back to again, having higher counts won't mean you're more comprehensive.
