One billion minutes ago, the RomanEmpire was flourishing. Google Earth has now been downloaded more than a billion times, according to the Official Google Blog. The number counts the "desktop client, mobile apps and the Google Earth plug-in.
"Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's" was the mantra of the old RomanEmpire. It meant that the central government, in the form of the Emperor, would get paid for its work, and all else remained with the states.
The Carthaginians were the RomanEmpire's greatest enemy and when Carthage was beaten by a long Roman siege during the Punic wars in 146 BC, the Romans spared no one and became the single most powerful empire on the planet at that time.
