Within hours of its release, security researcher NikCubrilovic warned that the Chrome extension of Axis contained a major vulnerability, which could allow attackers to capture a users web traffic, including passwords and session cookies.
The cookie problems were discovered by "Australian-born serial entrepreneur, writer, and hacker" NikCubrilovic. Cubrilovic examined all of the Facebook cookies and reported the details of which cookies remained after a given user logs off.
The hidden cost to users is a lack of privacy, and as NikCubrilovic, who describes himself as a serial entrepreneur, writer, and hacker, notes in this blog post, Facebook can track every page you visit, even if you’re logged out.
