Google InstantPreviews, which gave searchers a sneak peek of a website by hovering over a magnifying glass icon, has been removed due to low usage. Google InstantPreviews launched in late 2010 and looked like this:

Google InstantPreviews will now include Adobe Flash objects and other rich content. Google InstantPreviews allow searchers to preview the layout of a website from within the search results page before clicking on the blue link.
Google is adding InstantPreviews for Videos. InstantPreviews for videos have the same appearance as regular InstantPreviews -- the selected clip is highlighted in blue and a clickable magnifying glass appears next to the title of the video.
Similar to Google InstantPreviews for desktops, which Google implemented in November, the mobile version has a magnifying glass icon next to each site listing. Google has added InstantPreviews to specific mobile devices.
Keying in on the "instant" craze, Google added what they dubbed "InstantPreviews" (a prettier version of Bing's Quick View feature, but to be fair Ask Jeeves really deserves the credit for this innovation) to search results pages.
