RealNames has had a long-standing and laudable policy of not selling a generic term to any one company. For instance, Amazon.com couldn't purchase the name "books," nor could Ford purchase the name "cars." But in the past two months, the company has cut two significant deals that go against this policy, enabling both its partners and RealNames itself great benefits.
