Bing Places Connects Consumers With Local Businesses

Bing Places for Business allows marketers to add information to their search result listings, such as contact information and photos.

The latest addition to Bing Ads, “Bing Places for Business”, aims to connect businesses and their local customers.

The offering has options for local businesses with storefronts, chains with multiple locations and services that conduct their business at customer locations. In those search results, marketers can claim their listings, or add them, if Bing hasn’t already. From there, they have the option to add extra information, such as pictures, hours of operation, services offered and contact information.

The idea behind Bing Places for Business is that search engines have such an overwhelming number of listings that volunteering any extra information can help marketers close the sale. The feature is just a day old so the results don’t yet have extra information. However, a current search yields Yelp reviews – doing a search for a barber shop in my neighborhood, I am immediately drawn to Alex’s for having the best score, exemplfying the fact that the more info there is the better.
