The online photo and video service has introduced a new search interface and added a number of improvements to its search engine.
Flickr has improved its search algorithm, and created a new interface to search for images, people, and groups.
The revamped design comes with a better loading and scrolling performance, along with a new thumbnail view to help users scan results more easily. The new interface includes different sections for a user’s albums, photostream, people they follow, and the Flickr community. It also allows for advanced search filtering of images by color, size, and orientation, as well as way to find active groups on topics available on the platform.
The platform will further update group discussion searches and autosuggest panels to make them work consistently across the new site. It will also make the people and groups tabs more responsive to browser size, and enable users to comment directly on images.
Flickr says it’s slowly rolling out the new experience, so not all users will see the changes immediately.
