Hidden From Google: New Website Reveals 'Forgotten' Search Results

In every corner of the world we've seen organizations and individuals taking on search engines. Model Maria Belen Rodriguez filed a lawsuit against Google and Yahoo because of search results linking her to pornographic sites. Equustek Solutions in Canada requested that Google remove search results that linked to a rival's 300+ websites.

In the wake of recent European rulings on the "right to be forgotten", a new website has popped up. Called Hidden From Google, the contents of this site include some of the censored search terms, censored links, and the source:

Hidden From Google

According to The Telegraph, the website doesn't list the links Google has removed from Telegraph articles "including images relating to Max Mosely's 2008 court case and an article on former Law Society chief Robert Sayer."

The "About" section of the website explains the purpose of Hidden From Google:

The purpose of this site is to list all links which are being censored by search engines due to the recent ruling of the "Right to be forgotten" in the EU.

This list is a way of archiving the actions of censorship on the Internet. It is up to the reader to decide whether our liberties are being upheld or violated by the recent rulings in the EU."

Readers are also encouraged to submit additional links or provide commentary on what has been posted.

This website is standing up against censorship and our right to information. While Hidden From Google may not look like much, it's making a pretty bold political statement.
