Gmail users experienced a Gfail today. Google moved quickly to adjust its Gmail systems after a disruption left some of its users unable to access email for longer than an hour.
The company reported that between 12:42 and 1:46 p.m. ET on Tuesday it had been working on a partial disruption to the mail service. The issue is now believed to have been fully resolved.
"The problem with Google Mail should be resolved," the company said in a status update. "We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support."
According to Google, the disruption had left some users unable to access the service. The outage is thought to be limited in scope, impacting roughly 2 percent of the 350 million Gmail users.
Within 45 minutes of the first alert from Google the company said that it had begun restore service and work of a full fix was posted by the company some 64 minutes after the investigation of the issue began.
Now that the frustration has passed, it's safe to have a laugh about it, courtesy of The Onion.
