Twitter Launches New Home Page
If you haven’t seen it yet, here is a screenshot of the new Twitter home page.
As predicted, Twitter has brought more focus to trending topics and seems to be applying some sort of algorithm to show the top tweets on the home page.
Rather than a timeline of breakfast, lunch and dinner, they seem to be displaying Tweets from verified accounts.
As we have shown on our own #SESNY tweet wall and Tweet Tracker Tool, there are plenty of ways to slice the data and show different internal trends around a single hashtag.
Here are some of the ways that we have sliced up the data about tweets from #SESNY:
Top Tweeters (on a hashtag)
Most Followers (total)
Most Active on Twitter
Most Following (biggest tribe) within a Hashtag set
Pictures on Hashtag
Relationships onTwitter
We also have our own suggestion tool, so you can discover new Twitter friends who tweeted on a certain hashtag that your friends are following but you are not.
Let us know what you think of the new Twitter homepage in the comments below. Do you think it will drive an increase in users? Does it mean Twitter will make more sense to the uninitiated?
And let us know what you think of our #SESNY Tweet Tracker too – we’re continuously improving it, so your feedback matters!
