Google Doodle Celebrates World Ski Championships

Visitors to Google Norway today saw a new Google Doodle that celebrates the start of the 2011 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. The 50-nation skiing games kicked off this morning in Oslo, Norway and will continue through March 6.

The championships come back to Norway this year for the fifth time. Previously, Norway hosted the championships in 1930, 1952 (Winter Olympics), 1966, and 1982. As with each of the previous times Norway has hosted, the ski games will with the annual Holmenkollen Ski Festival.
