Marshall Sponder is the CEO/Founder of WebMetricsGuru Inc., a social solutions design, social media analytics, web data analysis, and SEO/SEM practice that focuses on cutting edge market research and social media trend analysis. He is the author of "Social Media Analytics: Effective Tools for Building, Interpreting, and Using Metrics", published by McGraw-Hill, 2012. Marshall is Board Member Emeritus at the Web Analytics Association and Member of the Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization (SEMPO).

For a decade now Marshall has been influencing the development of the analytics industry and possesses considerable in-house corporate experience as a group leader at IBM and Monster, combined with work at Porter Novelli PR and WCG (Weisscom Group). He has worked with several small businesses and start-ups,consulted for various B2B clients including The New York Times, US Magazine, The House Designers and Havana Central.

The author servers on the Advisory Boards of (a social analytics platform with operations in Norway & UK) and (a social intelligence platform located in New York City), and writes frequently for, a SAS sponsored Analytics Community.  

Marshall regularly consults on leading edge solutions design and industry best practices with platform vendors, agency clients and brand stakeholders. Marshall teaches at Rutgers University College of the Arts and University of California, Irvine. He holds an MA in Media Studies form the NY Institute of Technology and possesses a Certificate of Marketing Management from the Baruch College, a CUNY Continuing Education Division.
