SES Atlanta is Just 3 Weeks Away: Learn Top SEO & Paid Search Tactics, Tips & Tools

The original search marketing event returns with SES Atlanta. Here's a preview of the one-day event on July 9, which will feature sessions in two main tracks covering all aspects of SEO and PPC, and features keynote speaker Duane Forrester of Bing.

SES Atlanta 2014SES, the original search marketing event, makes its triumphant return in Atlanta in just three weeks.

Taking place July 9, this one-day event will feature sessions in two main tracks covering topics in organic and paid search.

The conference’s keynote speaker is Bing’s Senior Product Manager Duane Forrester, who will share trends on search over time and across platforms.

SES conferences have been known to expand attendees’ knowledge on search engine marketing while offering tips and tools that can be utilized immediately for any business.

A Preview of SES Atlanta

I recently chatted with Lorna Candy, head of event content, about the event.

Lisa Raehsler: Why did Incisive Media decide to relaunch the SES events?

Lorna Candy: Our research with the industry tells us there is a continuing need for very focused search marketing conferences – search moves so fast and is so complex that it’s hard to keep up with what’s happening. These roadshow-style conferences with a hyper-local focus are heading to U.S. cities where we know there are very active SEM communities, who are always trying to keep up with the latest and greatest in search.

LR: What kind of content can attendees expect?

LC: As with all of our SES events the emphasis is on tools, tips, and tactics. At SES Atlanta, we are purely focusing on paid and organic search with a fairly strong technical focus.

Whilst we know it’s important to understand the basics, we will also be covering more advanced tips, tools, and techniques to appeal to the more experienced Internet marketer. An important part of this is having good representation from local practitioners as well as outside expert presenters to provide a well balanced view of the issues.

LR: Which speakers are you excited to see?

LC: Duane Forrester’s keynote is going to be really thought-provoking – he’s going to take everyone on a fascinating journey looking at the current state of search as well as what’s ahead in the future and how you can prepare. He will share some great insight into where search is going and the opportunities for business. I’m really looking forward to this.

LR: What sessions should attendees be excited about?

LC: One of our aims with the new SES events is to provide an easily digestible content program that is not overwhelming to look at with multiple tracks and multiple sessions that you can’t attend all in one day.

It’s hard to pull out specific sessions, but some of my personal highlights on the SEO side would be hearing how Jackson Healthcare have tackled the mobile challenge; or if you’re deep into the SEO side of things, the SEO Diagnostics session from Eric Werner. Topher Kohan at Rockfish is going to be great, as well as a fascinating analysis from Glenn Gabe on what the latest Panda updates mean.

On the paid side you shouldn’t miss PPC experts Kevin Lee and the author of this post, who will be sure to bring you up to speed on the state of the art of paid media, as well as hearing the latest on retargeting using data you already have and cutting-edge technologies to optimize your campaigns.
