For the eighth year in a row, Google has made into the top five of an annual survey of the U.S. general public on corporate reputation.

Google was fourth in the 2013 Harris Poll Reputation Quotient report, with a score of 81.3 percent – one of just six companies that got a "great reputation" score of 80 or above.

Amazon (82.62) topped the list, followed closely by Apple (82.54) in second.

The Walt Disney Co. (82.12) also had a better rep than Google, according to the 14,000 people who were polled about their perceptions of 60 firms based on social responsibility, emotional appeal, products and services, vision and leadership, financial performance, and workplace environment.

Two other notables on the list: Microsoft (76.46) ranked 15th and Facebook (65.63) ranked 42nd (this is the social network's first appearance on the poll).

Google ranked first in the 2008 and 2011 polls; second in 2009 and 2012; and third in 2010.
