Who says 140 characters are enough? A new feature on Twitter could help advertisers enhance their creative messaging on the social platform.
The company has introduced an updated version of expanded tweets that can include additional content like video, images, and text within a tweet itself.
The firm is rolling out the feature with media partners including The Wall Street Journal, MSNBC’s Breaking News, The New York Times, and Time.
“When you expand a Tweet linking to a news article…you can see a preview with the headline, the introduction and sometimes the Twitter accounts of the publisher and writer. You can continue to read the article, follow these accounts, and reply, favorite or retweet the Tweet,” notes a Twitter blog post.
Twitter could extend the offering to other brands and advertisers, giving them a more robust way to market to followers.
