Google Images Adds Previews to Related Searches

by ,  Comments

Google is now displaying a visual preview of images when you hover over links to related searches in Google Images. Hovering will open a dark gray box with previews of three to five images from the related searches – no click-through required.

For example, if you search New York City on Google Images, Google’s related searches are for [new york city 2012], [new york city police], [new york city skyline], etc.:

Do you want more images of New York City’s skyline? Just hover over the blue link and the new panel will open with three skyline pictures that you can then click on and see the website for the image and see the full-size image, or further refine your search with Google’s options:

Or, if you’d rather, check out [new york city at night]:

This update is rolling out globally over the coming weeks, Google said in a blog post.
