Win a Free Trip to SES New York 2012

Submit a short video before Dec. 23 with your idea for a new conference session and you could win roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, and a Platinum Pass to SES New York, the leading search and social marketing event, March 19 to 23.

ses-new-york-2012-contestDo you want to shape the conference agenda and win a free trip to SES New York 2012? Well, submissions are now open for the SES New York 2012 Attendees Choice Contest.

As it did for SES San Francisco 2011 and SES Chicago 2011, Incisive Media is inviting search and social media professionals to propose panels to be included on the conference agenda for SES New York 2012. Participants are being asked to submit a video, up to three minutes long, describing their panel suggestion in detail and explaining why incorporating this session would enrich SES New York, which will take place at the Hilton New York on March 19-23, 2012.

The search and social media marketing community will get to vote on its favorite entries, and the SES editorial team will then select a final winner. The winner will receive roundtrip airfare, three nights’ accommodation at the conference hotel, and a Platinum Pass to the conference.

Entrants must not have won the contest in the previous 12 months. Submissions are open now through December 23. Public voting will take place from December 23 to January 20, and the winner will be announced on January 26, 2012.

The Audience Choice Contest is open to search and social media marketers living in the U.S. (continental states only). You can visit the Audience Choice Contest official rules page on Facebook for complete terms and conditions before submitting your proposal. The winner will be required to create a title and 150-word abstract description of their panel entry.

“We can’t think of a better way to make sure our conference content is relevant than by having it suggested by our search and social media community,” Matt McGowan, Managing Director of Americas at Incisive Media, said in a press release. “We welcome all submissions – whether it’s a unique link building campaign that produced phenomenal results, an off-the-chart ROI for a marketing program, a dramatic video ranking improvement campaign, or some other case study that can benefit other organizations – they’re all welcome.”

Now, if you haven’t been to SES New York before, it is the largest search and social media event of its kind. Its sessions provide attendees with real-time case studies and knowledge that can be immediately applied to their marketing programs, and its classroom-style learning offers a high degree of interactivity.

The five-day conference includes informative presentations and panels, intensive training workshops, and a large exhibit hall. And each day is scheduled to leave plenty of time for networking with industry peers.

Incisive Media is offering a pre-agenda savings of up to $800 for those who register before January 20, 2012.

Now, I should disclose that SES in a client of my agency. But don’t take my word on the value of attending the leading search and social marketing event. Check out these SES New York 2010 attendee testimonials.

And if you don’t have a video camera, that’s no problem. Just head over to youtube.com/create and use one of the video creation sites like Xtranormal or GoAnimate to make an animated video and post it directly to YouTube.

Now, creating animation can be pretty hard and often requires expensive software, but Xtranormal Movie Maker and GoAnimate let you create animated videos with just a text storyline. In minutes, you can make two bears or two political candidates describe your panel suggestion in detail and explain why incorporating this session would enrich SES New York.

Besides, you need to get your arms around this video marketing thing and this is as good a place to start as any. And did I mention that Xtranormal Movie Maker and GoAnimate are both free?

EDIT: This article has been edited to clarify that the competition is only available to participants in the U.S. (continental only) and not available in Canada as originally stated.
