Google Launches Job Search Engine for Veterans

In support of President Obama's call to help returning U.S. veterans and right before Veteran's Day, Google is promoting a government project - a custom search engine for veteran jobs.

The National Resource Directory (NRD) uses Google Custom search and JobPosting markup language - part of Schema.org - to develop a database, so far, of more than 500,000 jobs that are "veteran-committed."

Google is a big supporter of the U.S. military - providing free calls from Gmail to active U.S. military personnel this year and the families of deployed military with calling cards last year around the holidays. Good way to get a buyers' market aware of your product. In 2009, Google gave those same families priority access to the new Google Voice.
