The New Bing Deals

A new Bing Deals for mobile and desktop began rolling out Friday, adding a more visual deal search experience with enhanced filtering by retailer, location, keywords, and categories, Bing announced.

In teaming with Groupon, LivingSocial, Nordstrom, Target and others, Bing’s goal is to be an aggregator rather than be another Groupon or LivingSocial, or even Google Offers. Bing’s goal is cut through all the noise and help people searching for a coupon worth 30 to 50 percent off find 200,000 deals all in one place.

Bing Deals launched in March.

Bing Debuts Video Homepage

To celebrate the start of Fall, Bing debuted a video homepage Friday for U.S. users with an HTML5-enabled browser. This won’t be a daily feature, just “when the mood strikes us,” Bing said in a blog post.

Below is a video of the homepage, which you can still view by visiting Bing and hitting “previous image” (the left arrow located near the bottom right of the screen) until you find the time-lapse view of Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.

Bing Teams with Conduit on App Discovery

Conduit-powered browser apps can now be found with Bing, the companie announced Thursday. When Conduit network users search for a relevant term, such as “Groupon app,” Bing will return a link to the official Groupon App powered by Conduit, in addition to organic and paid links to the Groupon site.

Among Conduit’s clients: Major League Baseball, Time Warner Cable, Univision, Chelsea Football Club, Fox News, iVillage, Groupon, and Travelocity. In December, Conduit dropped Google for Bing as its search provider for its network of 260,000 publishers and 250 million users.
