Google Acquires Picasa
Google Inc. today announced it acquired Picasa, Inc., a Pasadena, Calif.-based digital photo management company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Google Adds New Toolbar Feature
Browse By Name enables users to navigate the web faster and easier by typing words, instead of URLs, directly into the Internet Explorer address bar.

Highbeam Research Adds Encyclopedia, Other Reference Tools
Highbeam Research has launched HighBeam Reference Research, which allows individual researchers to locate, organize and deliver answers from the Columbia Encyclopedia, as well as more than 25 other publications.

IAB Issues New Research From Nielsen//Netratings On Branding Value Of Sponsored Text Advertising
The study demonstrated that sponsored text advertising in the search environment works for an array of branding objectives. Sponsored text ads, much like the standard image based ad, had their biggest impact on “unaided brand awareness,” especially where a brand held the top position on search results pages.
