Terra Networks agrees to the sale of Lycos Inc. to Daum Communications
The transaction is valued at $540 million. The book value of the assets to be received by Terra prior to the sale is initially estimated at around 435 million USD. The initial price of the sale of Lycos, following execution of the transfer, comes to 105 million USD.

Ask Jeeves Teams With Citysearch on Local Search
Ask Jeeves, Inc. will license Citysearch’s local content and business data to help power Smart Search results for local searches on Ask Jeeves.

Vivisimo and LookSmart Partner to Deliver Clustering Search Feed
The new offering combines Vivisimo’s clustering technology and search results from LookSmart, in addition to leveraging LookSmart’s network of more than 30,000 advertisers.

Yahoo Launches Local Search Beta
Yahoo Local integrates proprietary Yahoo Search Technology, Yellow Pages and maps offerings and third party and user-generated content.

FindWhat.com Announces Entry Into Canadian Local Search Market
Findwhat.com today announced a strategic private label initiative with Yellow Pages Group (YPG), Canadas largest telephone directories publisher, to create a local Canadian-based pay-per-click advertising network.

Yahoo and Google Resolve Disputes
Under the terms of the settlement agreement, Google will take a license to U.S. Patent No. 6,269,361 and several related patents, held by Yahoo’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Overture, and Yahoo dismissed its patent lawsuit against Google. The two parties have also resolved a dispute regarding shares issuable to Yahoo pursuant to a warrant to purchase Google shares in connection with a 2000 services agreement.

PriceGrabber has been chosen by Terra.com to power the comparison shopping capability for its U.S. Hispanic website and Latin American shopping channel.
