Search Engine Forums Spotlight

SEMPO [Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization”
High Rankings Forum
"I view SEMPO as an organization who's time has come. Search engine marketing is a real profession and we should be proud of it. I see great benefits in joining together. Most SEO [search engine optimization” shops are small businesses (much like my own one person shop). Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could get health or life insurance at a group rate? And what happens if we have a serious issue with a search engine? Today it's just my personal gripe - if we speak as a united voice we carry more clout."
Click-Through Rates With New [Google” Ad Sizes
"Just wondering if anyone has any stats on click through rates after switching to a new ad size. I am contemplating a switch from the banner to the inline rectangle."
Google's Supplemental Results?
"[Can” anyone at all shed any light on where Google gets these supplemental results?"
Google Driving the Market...
"With the hype surrounding Google entering the advertising marketplace, I have seen little discussion concerning traditional advertising suppliers responding? What will happen with the marketplace...or is it big enough to absorb Google entering it? Will rates finally be driven back up with the added competition?"
State of the Directories
"What has to be done, both now and in the future, to make niche directories better compete against other forms of search?"
SEO Code of Ethics
"...when it comes down to something like SEMPO, I can see their reasoning behind not requiring a code of ethics, or for not kicking people out that use certain SEO practices. (It's not the choice I would make if I was starting an organization, but I DO understand why they are doing it that way.) What I'm saying is that if you aren't going to have any type of "best practice" requirements, then you SHOULD have a full disclose requirement so that clients of SEMPO members aren't getting 'duped' into paying for SEO/SEM services that could get them banned."
W3C Validation, !DOCTYPE etc...
"I am just curious, does it really help your site out, for search engines indexing, crawling and position of your site if you have a !DOCTYPE and have all errors cleared up in your page?"
Cre8asiteForums 1st Year - Your Favorite Thread?
