Teoma Provides Search Results to Mamma.com
Mamma.com today announced an agreement to add Ask Jeeves Inc.’s Teoma search results to its meta-search engine.

Yahoo Introduces New Yahoo Search
Yahoo Inc. today announced the launch of the new Yahoo Search, a faster and easier way for users to find what they are searching for on the Internet. The new Yahoo Search provides a better search experience to users through several new enhancements such as a cleaner, easier-to-use interface and faster ways to find relevant information.

Vivmsimo Introduces Automatic Categorization of FirstGov Search Results
Vivmsimo, Inc. today announced a free service that automatically categorizes the search results from FirstGov.gov – the U.S. Government’s official web portal. Vivmsimo’s new service helps citizens find government information quickly and easily by organizing FirstGov search results into meaningful subject categories.

FindWhat.com Announces New Automated Bidding Tool
FindWhat.com today announced the introduction of a new tool, AutoBid, that maximizes the amount of FindWhat.com Network traffic to advertisers’ websites, for the lowest prices possible, by automatically optimizing keyword bids.

FindWhat.com Announces CruiseControl Suite of Tools to Automate Campaign Management
FindWhat.com today announced the bundling of a suite of automated tools, branded FindWhat.com CruiseControl, that will help make FindWhat.com campaign management easier. FindWhat.com also announced that, effective September 1, 2003, its minimum bid price will increase from $0.01 to $0.05.

Ask Jeeves Introduces Intuitive Approach to Search with New Release of Ask.com
Unveiled today, Ask Jeeves’ Smart Search enables users to conduct more effective searches by helping narrow, broaden or more directly answer user queries. Designed to respond to the varying needs of searchers, the new features build on Ask Jeeves strategy to blend quality results with intuitive tools that enhance the search experience.

Overture Completes Acquisition of Web Search Unit of Fast Search & Transfer
Overture Services, Inc. today announced that it has completed the acquisition of the Web search unit of Fast Search & Transfer. Overture acquired FAST’s Web search unit for $70 million in cash. The transaction provides for a performance-based cash incentive payment of up to an additional $30 million over three years.

April 22

Overture Launches in South Korea
Overture Services, Inc. today announced that it has launched its Pay-For-Performance search service in South Korea. At launch, Overture will reach 92 percent of South Korea’s Internet users, making it the largest paid search network in that market.

Google Acquires Applied Semantics
Google today announced that it acquired Applied Semantics, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based producer of software applications for the online advertising, domain name and enterprise information management markets.

April 28

Overture Completes Acquisition Of AltaVista Business
Overture Services, Inc. today announced that it has completed the acquisition of the business of AltaVista Company. Overture acquired the AltaVista business for $106.6 million ($60 million in cash and approximately 4.275 million shares of Overture common stock, with a value of $46.6 million based on the closing share price on April 25, 2003).
