A few hours after Chief Yahoo! Jerry Yang sat down for a fireside chat/keynote with Danny at SES last Monday, he headed to The Charlie Rose Show studios for a television interview. Neither the transcript nor the video of the interview are available on the open web (they're for sale).
However, the audio of the 23 minute interview is currently available for FREE via Audible.com (look for the Free Audio links near the top of the page or search for "Jerry Yang"). You'll need to have an Audible.com account but that's also free.
Charlie Rose: When you -- is there going to be a great shootout between Microsoft and Google and Yahoo on search engines?
Jerry Yang: Well, I would -- I think we look at it a little bit differently. I think we look at it as search is a very big space. And in fact, I think the search conventional wisdom about what search is today versus where it should go and could go and will go is very different.
Btw, if you're interested in listening to what Jerry Yang had to say back in 2000, here's a link to his National Press Club presentation (RealAudio) from April 11, 2000.
