iFilm, the treasure chest of viral videos, music videos, short films, and more has announced a content deal with Blinkx that will make its database accessible via the BlinkxTV video search engine.
At the moment, a BlinkTV search for fIlm content is searching only metadata. However, a Blinkx spokesperson told me that in the next month or so a transcription search of iFilm content will become available. In other words, every word spoken in a video clip will be searchable. BlinkxTV uses speech recognition technology to create a searchable transcript. More in the news release. Btw, iFilm also has content deals with AOL's SingingFish multimedia engine and Yahoo Video.
